We are sick of keeping food safe in an outdoor bbq and tossing bad food – have purchased a new one with hopes of some reimbursement down the line. I have lost all my food in fridge & freezer twice now. We decided to buy a new refrigerator even though current fridge was like new (if it only worked!). No warning.. just slowly stopped cooling over a period of a few days. Our repairman from Sears assured us on 12/21/20 that the new compressor has new parts in it and should not fail. An ice maker part did arrive at my home, yet I have had no call, email or text as to when I can expect someone to service the unit. Compressor died and repair tech says they can’t even get the part. WE have used this refrigerator less than 4 years. I feel that we were taken advantage of as a consumer, and we have no recourse. Oct 2020- fridge fails again. Wait again and came back and found leak and repaired. Got a tech out to look at it and he pulled the drawer completely off and said there was no freeze pattern which means the compressor isn’t working. Please help! Just last week I decided to put my refrigerant gauges on the system and exactly what i had expected, when i checked out the pressures on the gauges the high side gauge was reading approx 110 PSIG so i knew that the compressor was trying to push the gas, and the low side was in the negative side where it was actually in a vacuum. So after each breakdown, we end up throwing all the food and inconvenience of not having food stock during the crucial Covid time. We weren’t charged for replacement the first time but are now being told we will be charged $500 to replace it again. It was still within the 5 year warranty for sealed system leak when reported but the repair people where unethical in repairs. Had to wait 5 days to get a technician out who said bad compressor, was told to contact Kenmore. Can’t understand why this is not included in the LG class action law suit. It’s an Elite 79551833412, both fridge and freezer are not cooling. I purchased from Sears on 9/2/16 and it failed to keep cooling on 10/23/20. Have a Kenmore Elite purchased in 2016. After that she boycotted Sears. Why have I not received any notices about the claims side of this on Kenmore? Earliest to get me in for a visit is 7/28. The compressor is switched off as are the fans and the heater turned on. He said the compressor was junk, it might start working again or it might never work. I CALLED A KENMORE APPLIANCE REPAIR SERVICE. Repairman said LG has not resolved problem, so these costly repairs are simply replacing the same defective part, lovely. Unit was still under warranty and I made several calls to Sears and was unable to to get any assistance. My Kenmore Elite 74015 30.6 cu. And, they haven’t corrected the problem. What about all the consumers who bought a Kenmore (LG) refrigerator after that date and are having the same issues??? It was a model 795.79993.511 serial 709KR00044. We bought a Kenmore 72053 in 2014. I also purchased a Kenmore Elite 795.720530110 (LG Fridge) in Nov 2012. This is the second occurrence and I am not letting go of this!!! Called local appliance repair shop, was told they know the LG compressors are bad, they are backordered for months, if you can even get one, and they are the same as original, so they are just going to fail prematurely as well. Better save your repair money and buy a different refrigerator not made by Kenmore or LG or continue this vicious cycle again and again. Purchased a Kenmore Elite Model 795.73165.610 in June of 2017. Please include us in the class action lawsuit. Paid Sears Home Services to come out to repair it. Sears will put a new compressor in, I will need to pay for labor. It has a smart diagnostic button – so I called – no techs to read it so I’m crap out of luck. Hmm Found the sealed system contaminated. Compressor went November 2018. Lots of calls time and money spent to get it fixed. I almost forgot one thing...if you chose to simply throw the fridge away, STILL get your free parts under warranty and you can sell them for about $300-400 on eBay! Luckily, we have a deep freezer so no food loss. Please include us in this class action!!!
So I am out hundreds of dollars and lost an entire refrigerator full of food. I have the Kenmore Elite, 795.73133.410. It’s end of October almost November and my 4 month old $3,000 fridge doesn’t work and Sears doesn’t care. Purchased my Kenmore refrigerator 3 years ago on May 20, 1997 (Model: 795.72493.611), and the LG linear compressor failed on December 1st, 2020. I called sears and they charge for the service to come out and are sending a tech which is costing $106.00 l I understand this will not fix This problem for more than 2-3 years because they replace with same faulty parts. 5 YEARS. Please add me to the list, We purchased a Kenmore Elite model 795.5182 in 2015- in 2019 the LG Compresser failed. Still teying to collect on that $500. SO, RIGHT NOW, I DON’T HAVE AN OVEN AND I DON’T HAVE A REFRIGERATOR!!! Sears repair couldn’t come out for 1 month. Same experience as Tony above. repair, slightly less if I wanted to sign up for Sears Appliance Warranty. I could not get a repair date until 1/16/18. The sheet recommended testing the voltage with the compressor connector connected and after 10 minutes check the voltage on “CON201” (you will have to push test leads into back of connector to make contact). Came back from a New Years Eve get away to find water all over our floor and all of our food in the fridge warm and the freezer completely thawed out, we lost everything in 2 days. It is a beautiful refrigerator but for $2000 this is a disgrace. Kenmore elite fridge purchased in June 2016, compressor failed in April 2020 and part covered under warranty but not labor which was 500 plus and completed in May 2020. Please include us in your class action against LG. They just keep telling you to schedule repairs for a system that can not be fixed. I had the compressor replaces in my Kenmore Elite refrigerator on 10/12/2020. He was surprised that ours lasted as long as it did. We called Sears for repair and due to the Pandemic could not get it repaired until July 10, 2020. Bought my Kenmore Elite Aug 2016 model 795.73167.610. So we we purchased a new non-LG made refrigerator. Purchased Kenmore Elite 795.7316 in October 2018. I did get a local repair guy to come out as soon as he looked at it he said throw it away and buy a new one. Thank you. This will apply to any refrigerator purchased in the past 5 years and should help a lot of people experiencing this compressor problem. Purchased 5/31/15. Was told compressor is bad and possible other problems. instead of the the 80VAC called out in the manual. Looking at LG recall and class-action lawsuit, they are not covering Kenmore but it is all the same and their compressor. The Sears repair service is here to replacement the compressor as it failed. Compressor failed 10/2019 causing another fan to also fail. Just like a company a company to dodge its responsibility (Kenmore) and another (LG) to compound the “Who Me? I am They charged home warranty company over $700 to put in a known defective compressor. I called in for Sears Repair Service, this time sans extended warranty, to have the technician tell me the refrigerator’s evaporator had failed (again) and the compressor was faulty as well. This is NOT a new issue with LG products. The refrigerant would have to be extracted, the faulty part replaced, the sealed system needs then to be evacuated (vacuum created) and new refrigerant put in and then the system needs to be tested to make sure that the pressures, temperatures etc, are OK and then resealed again. It was installed in our new house in May, 2016. Getting the part will take days as most places don’t stock it. This doesn’t make any sense we think we buying a Kenmore and really its a LG we need a Lawsuit against Sears and LG for this refrigerator especially spending $2000 on a refrigerator that constantly haves problem. I assume from the information my repairman gave me is this contains the linear compressor which is defective. How ridiculous to pay so much money for something that lasts months and only a few years! Piece of crap! ft. refrigerator from Sears on January 24, 2019 for $1,151.97. Are there any updates on the Kenmore/LG lawsuit? come out and change out both the compressor and the condenser coil (new design is made of steel now)at the same time and also install a new filter dryer (which they should do anyways) so that you can get these parts under the warranty. I have contacted Sears but was told I need to wait 7 days for someone to come look at it.
