The Beretta 92 is an old-school gun, widely considered the best of the old-school Wonder Nines along with the Browning Hi Power, CZ-75, Smith and Wesson Model 59, Sig Sauer P220 and P226, and so on. The 92F is a pretty nice shooting, good qulaity and predictable 9mm. Not so much the other Berretta you talked about cuz I haven't gotten that far. I have both. The Beretta 92 is the standard sidearm for most conventional U.S. military forces. Berettas must pass extreme testing, including being dropped and being fired 10,000+ without misfire. I own a Beretta 92 Compact and a CZ 75 Compact. THey generally have few FTE, stovepipes, etc. -- The 92 appears to come with 3x 17 round mags, while the CZ comes with 2x 14 rounders. It matters not what we compare between the CZ 75 BD and theBeretta 92FS/M9, because the proof is in the pudding and the pudding is calledrange time. CZ makes awesome guns. The ergonomics of the P-01 are much nicer to me... it just 'feels' better in your hand, and I prefer the de-cocker design of the CZ to the safety/de-cock of the 92. the berettas are way easier to modify and accessorize too... cz has some options but many gunsmiths dont deal with them. I think just by holding both you will be able to tell the difference. Quality control on the EAA Witness line is suspect at best. I like the CZ75B over the "Beretta" because I have small hands. I like this design as much as I can like a safety, it's VERY fast and natural into action from a holster, but not needed for a DA/SA pistol (my opinion). 92 FS. The CZ75 is one of the most accurate, most reliable and lightest recoiling handguns out there, I have one and I really really like it. And there are some alternative makers like Tangfolio being imported by EAA that produce fantastic CZ-75 modeled guns at a cheaper price. I have both. I like how the Browning hi-power handles and every1 tells me if i like the browning, I will love the CZ. Shot my brothers CZ75 compact at an indoor range, and shells were bouncing off the partition and landing on my head, down the back of my shirt, you name it. If you like the way the 92FS feels in your hand, don't hesitate to get it. And reliable as hell . The slide mounted safety of the Beretta just sucks. I might take the Beretta, only because I have to qualify with one and teach others to qualify with one, but for use, I'd prefer the CZ. Similar to the Beretta 92, the CZ 75 (and thus, the Shadow 2) has its own proprietary slide design. The CZ has a frame over slide interface, which reduces the size of the slide serrations but I never found that to be a problem. I have narrowed it down to these two. I own both - these are two of the three guns I own. I slid the 18 round magazine into the Beretta and again unloaded on the steel targets. When I first got the Beretta, I really enjoyed it, but realized that I wasn't super impressed with it. These are actually very different guns: one has a steel frame, one aluminum, one has a frame mounted safety, and can be carried cocked 'n locked, the other is double action with a slide mounted decocker/safety. It's reliable and well made. Concealed carry of either firearm is...complicated to say the least, due to sheer size, but then again, plenty of people carry one or the other without issue. If you want one of their CZ derivatives, best to take the step up to their Witness Match line, and by that point you'll be paying almost as much as the CZ to begin with. On an unrelated note, I've never shot a 9mm that I was more accurate with, but I've also only been shooting handguns for a couple months. Slight edge to the Beretta in reliability.
